Layton was settled in 1850 by mormon pioneers. The city was once a shipping and processing center for surrounding irrigated farmlands producing vegetables and sugar beets. Now, it is largely suburban, with many of its farmlands given over to housing developments and commercial buildings.
There are many schools in this city. Some of the best are: East Layton School, which is an elementary school, North Davis Preparatory Academy, which is a high school, and Layton High School.
There are many things to do in this beautiful city. Go visit the Hill Aerospace Museum, SeaQuest Utah, or take a hike through Adams Waterfall. Layton is conveniently located just South of Hill Air Force Base.
